Spectacular Fairytale Wedding with Magnificent Florals at Adare Manor In Ireland

Set on an 840-acre estate in Ireland, Adare Manor is an opulent Neo-Gothic manor hotel and golf resort that has unsurprisingly been voted Best Hotel in Europe by Conde Nast Traveller readers.

This setting was to be the backdrop for Aimee and Shane's lavish black tie wedding celebration in October 2020 captured by Ireland Wedding Photographer Story of Eve.

Despite Aimee and Shane both being Ireland natives, they met in London at an exhibition and bonded over their shared interests in travel, art, architecture and design.

It was on an impromptu night in Adare Manor that Aimee recalls the story of their engagement, or not, as it turned out.

“I was sure Shane was going to propose. Feeling slightly disappointed the next morning, we then travelled to the Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore. Shane didn’t bring a jacket with him that weekend, so he didn’t have anywhere to fit the ring with its box in his pockets, so he had a loose engagement ring in his jeans pocket throughout the entire day. On driving into Ardmore, Shane suggested we make a stop into An Tobar (a small sibin type local bar in Ardmore) for an afternoon drink (there may have been a rugby match on tv!).

As we happily sat in An Tobar Bar, I was innocently rubbing Shane’s leg as we sat at the bar. I immediately felt something odd in Shane’s pocket, to which he replied it was some spare change, smiled, and quickly asked if I wanted another drink. Later that afternoon, we sat alone on the balcony of our suite at the Cliff House Hotel, with the end of the afternoon sun shining down on us. It was in that moment, Shane officially got down on one knee, and the rest was history.”

While Aimee and Shane had originally planned their wedding for May of 2020, they decided to postpone until October of the same year due to Covid restrictions, however, with the extraordinary talents of Tara Fay on planning and styling, they sacrificed very little but time in the extra months waiting for the day to roll around.

Every detail of this elegant Ireland wedding was spectacular, however, the florals by Mark Grehan from The Garden were extra special. Aimee wore the Queen wedding gown by Monique Lhuillier for her wedding ceremony before changing into a couture Vivienne Westwood for the evening party, while her dashing groom was turned out in a sharp Tom Ford suit.

Let’s finish with a quote from Aimee’s highlight of the day, which you can watch in her short film below;

“My favourite moment of the day, had to have been when we walked into our evening reception together. We had changed our outfits as a surprise, and walking in to our gorgeous venue and dancing to Stevie Wonder with our friends and family cheering us on, was just such a highlight. There was such an atmosphere of joy, that after a stressful few months prior, we could feel the happiness and positive energy fill the room.”
