An Intimate and Wildly Romantic Elopement on the Rugged Ireland Coast

“For my part, this moment represents a commitment, a further step in our history, an additional reason to tell the world I’m happy and that that happiness is by your side. I promise to look after you, to respect you, to hug you, listen to you and to walk holding your hand for the rest of our lives.” Extract from Javier’s vows.

Fran and Javier’s story had me completely gripped from the very first email. One second faster; one second slower…and their paths would have not crossed that day. Both of them got lost from their friends at a marathon they were running and a chance encounter and the rest was history, as they say.

There’s so much I could say about Fran and Javier. The many long voicemails of thanks they have left for me, the hand written note and bottle of Monkey 47 from Fran’s home country of Germany on the evening of their wedding, the chats and meet ups we enjoyed in the build up and planning stages for their wedding.

I hope Fran and Javier’s story below can be a little moment of light and inspiration amid these crazy times we are living through. A reminder that there are many ways to celebrate a wedding, and ultimately, you can still have an incredibly special collection of memories to look back on and share with your loved ones even if it’s just the two of you there…and then when we are on the other side of all of this, you can throw the biggest three day party, at the biggest venue with everyone you care for and love under the one roof to share stories, laugh and dance into the small hours!

Take care, stay safe and enjoy Fran and Javier’s story…
